William retired from Bessemer Trust in early 2009 where he was a Managing Director and Senior Resident Officer of Bessemer Trust’s London office and was a member of Bessemer Trust’s Management Committee.
From 1998 until 2007, he was responsible for Bessemer Trust’s alternative investment business, including Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Real Estate and Exchange Funds. From 1992 to 1998, William was Chairman of Alex. Brown & Sons Investments Limited and in charge of Alex. Brown’s principal investment activities, including its alternative investment business.
Before joining Alex. Brown, he was founder and shareholder of Jamestown Investments Limited, a corporate finance firm headquartered in London and acquired by Alex. Brown. William is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. degree in history.
