Bonnie Steiner

Bonnie Steiner is an independent consultant with over thirty-five years’ experience in advising companies and HNW families on a broad array of matters including cross-border structuring, succession planning and corporate governance. She started her career as a lawyer in the United States where she was admitted to the bars of Louisiana and Texas, achieved Partnership level at her New Orleans based law firm and was advising clients conducting business in the Gulf of Mexico such as Lloyds of London and the Institute of London underwriters prior to relocating with her husband and family to Switzerland where she currently works and resides. She is an active member and former co-chair of a Swiss branch of the Society of Trusts & Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a frequent contributor of articles to the STEP journal.

Upon moving to Switzerland Mrs Steiner was an adjunct professor of business law and ethics at Webster University, Geneva. In 2000 she joined the private client division of the law firm Schellenberg Wittmer, Geneva where for over ten years she advised families and companies on trusts and estate planning. From 2010 until 2023 she was a Partner and Senior Trustee at Stonehage Fleming, working from its Swiss offices, where she sat on the board of directors of a number of private companies, charitable foundations and trusts.

Bonnie Steiner holds four degrees, including a Juris Doctor of law (JD) and a LL.M from Tulane University.
