Nigel is a partner and co-head of the Merchant Banking team based in London. He is also a member of Stanhope’s Group Executive Committee.

Nigel has over 30 years’ experience in corporate finance and over the last 15 years has specialised in private capital markets and M&A. Nigel was formerly the head of Private Merchant Banking at SG Kleinwort Hambros for 7 years. He was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Department at Credit Suisse based in London where he was jointly responsible for the Consumer Retail M&A team for Europe. He acted for many major European groups such as Tesco and Carrefour. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Nigel was a Director in Kleinwort Benson’s Corporate Finance Department and headed the Corporate Finance Department in Paris between 1991 and 1995. He acted for HM Government on the privatisation of the UK electricity industry.

Nigel initially worked as a corporate lawyer with CMS Cameron Mckenna specialising in US/UK cross border M&A. He graduated in Law at Bristol University.
