Alex has been working with some of the world’s best known and most sophisticated investors for more than 18 years, providing portfolio management services and advising on everything from governance and investment strategy to manager selection.
Alex Kershaw joined Stanhope in 2018 from Cambridge Associates, the institutional investment adviser. During his 16 years at Cambridge, Alex was formerly the head of the London office and latterly the head of the Middle East and Africa practice. He has been a portfolio manager and advisor to investors in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. His clients have included sovereign wealth funds, central banks, charities, development funds and other large governmental investors, as well as families.
Previously Alex spent 11 years as a diplomat with the British foreign service, where he specialised in the Middle East politics. He was posted to Cairo and Geneva. Alex started his career at the COBA group, a management consulting firm where he provided advice on a range of business and financial matters.
Alex has a B.A. and M.A. from Merton College, Oxford University. He has also qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He speaks French and some Arabic.
